Motif Monday

If you haven't been following my blog then here is the deal. Part of my goals of 2012 is to work my way through Jan Eaton's 200 Squares, and do at least 100 different motifs (in the book some of the motifs are the same but show in different color schemes, and I plan to do all the different patterns). So every week since the beginning of the year I've been crocheting 2 a week. I've been using pinks and greens to make a garden blanket.  So these are the past two weeks squares. So far this circle in  the square one shown on top is my favorite, and I plan to make a scarf with this motifs.

Monday from now on is when I'm going to post the motifs, thus Motif Monday!
After I finish the Jan Eaton book I plan to move on and work my way through the Beyond the Square Motifs  book. That's all for now, I hope you have lovely week.

Work in Progress

Hey everybody I finally figured out what WIP mean, Work in Progress. I'm a little slow with the whole letter thing. It took me forever to figure out what WTF and LMAO were too. I really hate texting, so I never really learn the lingo. For such a boring week it really few by. So here is my WIP for this week.
WIP  Sunday

Just wanted to let every one know that I got this pattern from the blog www.signedwithanowl.blogspot.com tutorial. Signed with a Owl is one of my favorite blogs to follow. She also as a wonderful big circle tutorial that I also want to do something with. So the circle rainbow baby blanket is all crocheted up in cream . I used a join as you go technique for the first time. I've very happy with the color order and size. I'm now deciding on what border I'm gonna add. I'm thinking simple stripy edge. Still crocheting the Tardis blanket, but it kinda looks like a blue blob right now and will have picks up sometime this week.

Hello Sweetie

I finished up my sweet heart scarf. It's a little late for this Valentine's day. But all set for next year. It took me a while to deside how I was going to make my hearts. And after many tries I finally got the shape and size I wanted. . This was my first time doing lettering on crochet. After doing 18 hearts I'm starting to get the hang of it. I've also decide to make up a tutorial for the the sweet heart scarf (coming soon).

Progress Report
I didn't post any photos of my other projects because there at the very boring stage of sewing in ends and doing edgings. I fell behind on my Jan Eaton squares, so next week I will have 4 to show next week. So have a lovey week.

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a quick post  to give you a sneak peek at the sweet heart scarf I'm working on today. Something about all those little conversation hearts just got to me. The nice thing about this scarf is its all yarn from my own stash.
We are not  fancy people (we are also people on a budget) and this is our 6th Valentine's day together were going to enjoy a nice dinner a IHOP, then home for GLEE and the special peanut butter cheese cake I  made for us.

The Studio

Well it took a little longer to clean and organize the studio. I'm calling the studio from now on in hope to inspire me more to work in there rather than a dumping grounds for mail. The office sounded like boring work. But a Studio that sounds like fun and creative juices flowing. Last week I showed you that I reorganized my yarn closet. This week as you can see below the is cleaned up and ready to use space.

The week flew by so quick. The big thing that was going around here everyone was taking about was the 310 million dollar power ball (which someone, not me, is waking up rich today). Chatting about with friends and co-workers about what we would do with the money. Of course the , travel, house, car etc. But I think after I saw the world and was ready to settle in I love to own my own yarn shop and workshop where I could teach others to knit and crochet. AH...maybe someday.

Just a quick pick of Lola taking a cat nap with some yarn.

Progress Report:
All the little circles are done up in rainbow colors. This is the color order I'm putting them on.

The Tardis panels are all getting trimmed up with a light blue highlight and a black shadow. I can wait for the new season of Doctor Who to start. It will be great to have a blanket to use when it comes back this fall.

And here are this weeks granny squares.

Sneaky Kitties

Rory is a sweet as she is sneaky. I use to keep my yarn projects in a really nice basket. Then in a really nice bag.  And for a while nothing would happen. Until one day I would come home and find a yarn explosion up and down our hall way. Most recently Rory stole my husbands turkey Sandwich . He didn't know is was missing until he got to work.  We know it was her because she goes crazy when every you take turkey out of the fridge. We found the bread and tin foil under the sofa that night. This is why now I keep my back stash of yarn in a closet that I know they can't get into and in little bins with lids for current projects. I took me a while a good yarn was found unraveled before I started to do this. Also one of my other cats loves to chew on the bamboo needles.  I got both these bins at Target, they are the perfect size. They also fit perfectly under our side tables for easy stash away. So I hope you have better luck with you animals and crafting projects.

One thing I've learned from my organization of my office is I do not need any more yarn. At least not for a very long time. (You can't see it, but I also have a huge bin of second hand Red Heart Yarn) behind this.
And lets not forget it's THE JANE AUSTEN BOWL II. Yeah, yeah, yeah there is that other thing with the football and the beer...hmmm...SUPER BALL? whatever. Last year, thanks to the PBS Jane Austen Marathon on this Sunday was my first Jane Austen Bowl. We will be watching 'pride and prejudice', Emma, sense and sensibility, Mansfield park (Northanger Abbey and Persuasion were both check out at the library). In addition to those classics we  have 'Bride and Prejudice', 'Becoming Jane' and the 'Jane Austen Book Club'. It's really nice that my husband's best friend likes having a Super Bowl Party at his house, so I can enjoy my Sunday with Jane.

Progress Report:
It doesn't look like much, but I wanted to share the progress on the Tardis Blanket. So far I've got a good start on the eight panels in the doors. Once I finish doing the trim on these I'm going to work form the bottom up attaching and sewing the panels in.
I'm also making progress on the rainbow circle blanket. I've made it through green. This week I'm also going to make a small project. It's listed on my new page on this blog under Books I Love tab.

Here is this week's blocks from the Jan Eaton Book.  I hope you've had a lovey week.
